Refrigeration And Air Conditioning Mechanic

    Responsibilities

    • Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
    • Coach and instruct apprentices
    • Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
    • Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system
    • Interpret gas codes
    • Handle, recover and store refrigerants
    • Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
    • Install new equipment per manufacturer’s instructions
    • Maintain quality of service/installation work to the highest industry standards

    Licensing and Certification

    • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate
    • Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate
    • Transport Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Certification
    • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
    • Gas Fitter Certificate – Level 1 or A

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3 years of working experience as a licensed 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
    • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and cooling/heating principles.
    • Familiarity with tools and diagnostic equipment used in maintenance and repair.
    • Knowledge of safety protocols and local building codes.
    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
    • Comfort working in varied conditions (e.g., outdoor sites, confined spaces).
    • Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: We offer competitive pay based on experience.

    Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

    • Monday to Friday
