Responsibilities
- Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
- Coach and instruct apprentices
- Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
- Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system
- Interpret gas codes
- Handle, recover and store refrigerants
- Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
- Install new equipment per manufacturer’s instructions
- Maintain quality of service/installation work to the highest industry standards
Licensing and Certification
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate
- Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate
- Transport Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Certification
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
- Gas Fitter Certificate – Level 1 or A
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience as a licensed 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and cooling/heating principles.
- Familiarity with tools and diagnostic equipment used in maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and local building codes.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Comfort working in varied conditions (e.g., outdoor sites, confined spaces).
- Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: We offer competitive pay based on experience.
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
